Default A look on Trooper tanking

After viewing the gameplay video again at swtor.com, it makes me curious how much fun the trooper tanking style will be. It seemed like a considerable amount of strafing involved and strategy, far better than most rotation / tank and spank games out. I understand that there were pretty important position changes in WoW, but this seems more defensive than that.

What do you think of it?

The tanking seems very unique compared to other MMOs. I believe they'll be very useful on some encounters when kiting is a must. I'm looking forward to seeing how this class pans out in the future because as with imperial agent, we haven't had much info in this class yet.

From the looks of things now, it seems fairly obvious that ranged tanks will be more effective in some situations while melee are more effective on the latter. I suppose we will see once the game comes out (which means properly cataloging strategies will be more difficult and time consuming than I had hoped without a lot of help).

Well, if you look at how things are going, you will need at least 2 people to record, if not more, depending on your perspective. You need a ranged tank perspective, a melee tank perspective, and you need this perspective from both sides (sith and republic) since some flashpoints are available to one side not the other. As much as you might hate it, if you can't get someone in to do the republic side of things, you might have to stick with guardian tanking at first, just to make the websites name make sense. :\
