Default If there is a limit to what tradeskills you can choose...

What would be your priority to gaining?

Of the crafting tradeskills, I would definitely make sure I picked up armortech, as I'm sure I'll be able to make some rather competitive pieces of armor much sooner than I'd be able to just pick them up.

Most games limit it to 2 or 3 skills, so I expect this one to be the same. Usually I go for 1 or 2 gathering skills, and 1 craft skill.
As to which one, I don't know yet. It will depend on what class I end up playing with, and whatever will be most usefull for that one.

Does it really limit you? I guess I never really noticed, because I spend a lot of time working on a skill, and also, once I like something, I stick with it.

You have to think, they also have non-crafting professions as well such as missions and leadership. It's really going to require more information to be able to decide what would be best in the long run.

I also don't think you can have enough armor - that would be my main focus if there were any type of limitations. But it's a little early to say until we know more...

The limit is 2. I'm definitely picking armorsmith as one and I'm not sure about the other one. Maybe salvaging as I'll need some sort of gathering skill to earn gold.

You can assign skills to your companions and they will level up in those skills. Your companions will also gather and craft for you while your offline which I find really cool.

I could have sworn I read on the official site that your crew can learn 3. Ill double check when I get home. (I'm on a cell right now)

I'm not sure how many your crew can learn, but I meant your character can learn 2

EDIT: You're correct. Each crew member can learn up to 3 skills.

"Your Starship is home base for you and your crew. While you’re exploring the galaxy and progressing through your storyline, you can relay orders back to the ship. You’ll be able to assign tasks to your companions to gather resources, to craft items at the ship’s workstation, or to embark on special missions. Based on their personal backgrounds, some companions will be more proficient with certain skills, and the higher their opinion of you, the better they’ll perform across the board.

You will be able to select three Crew Skills for your team to train in from among these main categories:..."

Thanks for picking that up for me, right now my connection is terrible so loading swtor.com would be more than a headache. Also makes me happy that my memory is better than I thought
