Default Design your ideal TOR quest!

So let's take a look at the typical RPG quest structure and try and decide what we would want to see from TOR.
    1. Go to point A, retrieve item X
    2. Go to point A, retrieve item X from monster type
    3. Go to point A, kill X monster
    4. Kill X amount of Y monster
    5. Go to point A and speak with X NPC
    6. Kill X Boss
    7. Find X items from Y mobs
    8. Travel to point A in X amount of time
    9. Defend point A for X amount of minutes

I'm sure you guys could think of more with me, but just that many got me thinking that the entire quest structure is a little boring when you think about it. Of course, this is Star Wars we are talking about, so the capability of an excellent storyline is highly possible. So what would be your ideal quest / quest line? Considering I used to be a storyline writer for a gaming company (I signed a nondisclosure years ago, the game flopped anyway so don't ask), this was one of the items I used to do. I'm pretty sure Rayden and JediExile has also had a hand in doing this type of thing from time to time, so hopefully this thread will have some awesome ideas.

So go ahead and post your ideal quest / questline, feel free to include any dialog if you'd like, feel free to create unique characters or use characters from KoTOR history or the TOR timeline or whatever resource you need.

I'll add in some of my own after I see some of yours. This should be a fun thread

    To add a few:
    10. Escort NPC from point A to point B
    11. Follow NPC from point A to point B without being detected
    12. Kill NPC before he reaches point A

If you look at every (mmo)rpg you ever played, you'll see that every single quest you did will fall into one of these types. The quests in itself are usually boring, basic and don't always make sence. Don't you love those missions where you need to collect 10 animal parts, yet not all animals drop them. "Bah, he doesn't have eyes either.."
What makes or breaks a quest, or an entire questline, is the background story. A good questline should pull you in, and make you forget about all other quests you have, untill you finish this line in some exciting final battle.

    A 10 man group quest.

Defend point A from a group of 10 republic NPCs. After that, shackle them and bring them back to the grand moff alive. Then interrogate them using the force or verbally, i.e. you get to choose the way that you interrogate them; violently or peacefully using the multiplayer chat system.
After you interrogate them, the grand moff asks you to put and end to them. You can either refuse or do as he says. If you refuse, you must battle the grand moff and you will become a grand moff if you defeat him. If you do as he says, you will be promoted and will be given the "Darth" title.

While this would work in a single player game, for an MMO like TOR this wouldn't make much sence story-wise. You can not promote every player to high ranks within the Sith Empire.

    - A Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent would never be able to hold the title of Darth, only a Sith Warrior/Inquisitor could.
    - As far as I know, the rank of Grand Moff wasn't used during the Old Republic besides as an a honorary title. It wasn't untill Palpatine founded the Empire that the title became an actuall rank (again).

Other then that, the interrogation could be fun if done correctly. There aren't many games that feature this (Mass Effect 2 comes to mind).

Yeah i agree with you, however, i'm sure it can be tweaked slightly so that it can be integrated whilst feeling natural and fluid.

Maybe replace the "becoming a grand moff" idea with something like gaining a rare item, e.g. a large 20 slot bag, a vanity pet, his lightsaber, his cloak, etc.

It would make SWTOR really stand out from the crowd if they had quests as unique as the one i suggested!

Perhaps a space fight could be added via your departure to the planet of your grand moff?
