Thread: Group orientated quests?

In my opinion, all MMO's should allow you to play solo if you wish it, with the exception of dungeon type environments. I don't mind, however, a few group quest / quest lines throughout the game as long as they aren't required within solo quest lines. Does anyone else find it a tad bit annoying to have to stop in the middle of a rather enjoyable story arc to find others to complete the quest? Or do you prefer to be able to ride it out solo and only look at group questing as an optional thing?

I would prefer to be able to do whatever I felt like at the time, so I guess I agree with you but for different reasons. If I wanna group up, I wanna group up, if I wanna go by myself, I wanna do just that. I don't want the game to dictate that for me.

Yes, very..
I will always try to complete it on my own first anyway. Once I realise that it isn't going to happen, I'll start looking for others.

I would like to play alone - that way I could play at my own pace. Sometimes I would like to actually work a little slower, so that I could take my time to concentrate on something. Other times, other players are too slow for my liking....

This was actually one of the reasons I was upset that The Old Republic was going to be a MMO versus a solo-type game. I like to do things on my own and at my own pace.

I completely agree with this.

Exactly. That doesn't stop me from other games, but it's still how I feel.

I'm happy it's an MMO. I like new things, meeting new people, pissing people off which I'm sure I'll do a lot of in pvp...

Careful with thoughts like that, I have no qualms in leading the opposition straight to you just for giggles

That is EXACTLY how I feel. I hope there are options to group up for "solo" leveling up missions and to enter PvP areas (like Alderaan!...excited :P) solo?!

Well, if the game has PvP areas like most others do, there will always be members of your factions still in the fray. I don't suppose a group would be necessary regardless.
