    Default Lets Rant!

So its pretty clear that this is a good game, we all seem to like it, some even love it. I am tired of those threads praising the game however and would like to know what ticks you off about SWTOR.

I will start. Feel free to chime in with your own issues or to just let me know I need to stop being a baby and get back to leveling.

Galatic Market - Fix this sad excuse of a player auction system now. I cannot buy and sell for profit, I can barely sell loot for profit...I really expected more out of this.

Questing - Some planets seem to have never ending quest lines, I seem to find myself running all over the place several times to complete certain quests. I cannot stand drudging through level after level doing the same thing over and over...I know its the style of these games. I guess I was expecting something different.

Looking For Groups - I want a damn LFG system, I dont have time to stand in an area and try to PUG or hope I hav guildies my level on to run with.

PVP - I want to be able to pick my warzone when I queue. I want to be in a leveled bracket, not a scaled version where I am battling level 50s, it seems unbalanced.

Glitches - This is just me being picky, but I have noticed a few different sound meshing glitches that should have been dealt with in beta. Nothing serious but enough to make me notice.

I know it may seem that I am wanting "WoW-style" features for SWTOR, I am. Why not take the good things that we all know work and make playing that much easier by putting them into action?

Galactic Market - This one is... I dunno.. It lacks buyers, as well as items.. I have a hard time finding the stuff I want to buy, from crafting materials to armor. It looks like only a handfull of players are actually using it. Hopefully this will improve in time. So my issues with the market are more playerbase related then anything else. I do wonder what you think is broken with it, or what the devs can do to 'fix' it?

Questing - I tend to agree. The 3th planet on Republic side (Taris) goes on and on and on and on. Even when you're done with your class quest and want to move out to the next planet, you still got a full journal with missions, that lead to new area's and more missions.. The plus side is the quests never send you to the same area's, something that the quests in WoW did, so you are always exploring new terrain. Instead of seeing this ammount of quests on a single planet, I would have preferred half the quests, but 2 planets for the same level range. So you can take planet A on your first char, and pick planet B on your second char, to keep the game fresh and interesting.

LFG - Agreed! Yes, it's possible to find a group by doing a shout in general, and that's usually enough for heroics. But for flashpoints it would really help if we'd have a server wide LFG tool.

Clothing/Armor - I spend 25k creds on my trooper to buy and make a matching set of great green/white heavy armor. It looks awesome, and consists of green, blue and purple gear. If I would use the stuff I find as loot, or get from quests rewards, I'd be walking around with orange boots, yellow pants, green chests and white gloves.... This has been an issue in most mmo's and it totally amazes me it's still remains an issue in a mmo today. Give us cosmetic armor slots goddamnit! So I can keep wearing my good looking armor, while enjoying the benefits of the actuall armor I'm finding that's suited to my level.

Mission Rewards - You do a mission, only to find out the rewards are useless. I'm looking for heavy armor for my trooper, but the boss I just killed to finish the mission only dropped light jedi stuff. The quest reward is commendation, but the commendation stuff I can buy is totally useless since I'm already wearing better gear, or the colors don't match at all... I want to be able to see what the quest rewards are in advance, so I know I don't have to bother with the missions, there are enough of them anyway. Or let mobs drop stuff a player can actually use (I'm not talking about random mobs, but mobs found in instanced areas during class missions.)

    I have more!

Mounts - I cannot stand the way mounts work with combat...the whole dismount/stun thing annoys me. If I want to run away from a fight then so be it...I will.

Quest Tracker - It tends to confuse me/misplace my quests. I will go to a place 2 or 3 times before I can find where the turn in is, this usually only occures with the drop box style turn ins.

The only real issue I have with the game is PvP, but I'll break it down and respond to you guys' points first before I go into my probably drawn out rant over the PvP system they currently have in place.

GMP - I agree, it sucks. BUT, the games been out a little longer than a week, the market hasn't quite fit its 'place' yet where we really have a server economy (at least on my server anyway). Mostly, people are just throwing things up there in full stacks and price them for what the GMP automatically appraises it for. A bit obnoxious, but this is a community issue, not necessarily a software issue. The software issue with the GMP is the fact that searching for what you want is tedious to the point of almost not wanting to do it at all. To fix, I simply wish that they would simplify the GMP and the search feature they have set up for it.

Questing - I somewhat agree but somewhat don't. I typically skip heroics and flashpoints (haven't been doing this as much on my Sorc) simply because it's much faster to level by not doing them. You can argue with me if you want, but I know that I'm right when I say heroics are virtually pointless. The gear you get from them can easily be replaced by the commendation gear that you SHOULD have enough comms for by the end of the planet. To move further in to the point I'm making about the amount of quests there are, if I skip normal quests, I tend to risk not being the desired level the planet wants you to be before you move onto the next, for example I would end up leaving Nar Shadaa at level 18-19 instead of 20, which the next planet is DESIGNED to start at 20. Therefor, I tend to do all the standard solo quests I can find, including the bonus series. My techniques have worked wonders for me, and if it wasn't for the fact that I've had to work so much here lately, I would have been one of the first 50's on my server.

LFG / LFD - The system it seems you guys are after is the LFD or LFR tool they have in WoW. It makes things easier, yes, but in my opinion it was the worst things Blizz had done for WoW and is one of the primary reasons I quit the game. Let me elaborate. When I played WoW, I played on Skullcrusher, a highly competitive, high pop, yet close-knit US server. The LFD/R tool literally demolished our community in one fell swoop, as we were almost NEVER playing with other characters from our server anymore. On the flipside, before they introduced LFD/R, they had LFG which was an amazing innovation for the MMO community as a whole. It let anyone on the server, regardless of what zone they were in, know what you wanted to do without you needing to sit and camp, waiting for people to do it with you. The system embraced community aspects as well as sped up finding groups. Unfortunately, it wasn't 'instantaneous' enough for some of the whiners out there who wanted instant gratification. TOR's LFG function as it stands right now is practically useless, and I can count on one hand how many times I've used it in my 4-5 days /played between my characters.

Mission Rewards - Good point, Rayden. I'd like to know what I'm going to get out of the quest as well, albeit not for the same reasons. I'm going to do the quests anyway, as mentioned previously, it's just always good to know what I'm doing first if I want something 'right that moment'.

Clothing/Armor - I can see where this turns people off from an RP perspective, however you could look at it this way. Your journey to leveling, you are picking up scraps, while once you are 50 you are finally getting the good stuff. Most of the end game gear matches (for the most part), and seems to be a good example. I'm not going to say much on this, but I'll just say I somewhat feel your pain.

Quest Tracker - I have no complaints whatsoever about the quest tracker. It is by far the best out of box questing system I've used to date in terms of not having to search for every little thing. Look at WoW, you have to use external mods to do even half the job this one does.

Mounts - Wait till you get your level 40 mount and your level 50 mount. They get progressively sturdier. The level 25 mount for lack of better word blows goats.

And finally, my PvP rant. I'm not necessarily upset that they don't have brackets, considering that if they DID have them it would take us up to 10x as long to get into a single WZ. Same thought applies to not being able to choose which WZ you are going to play. I admit, I would love to be able to do both of those things, but if it's going to make my queue times up to 45+ minutes, thanks but no thanks. Look at how WoW was before XRealm PvP was launched. I remember having to wait up to 2 hours on a single round of AV. On the flipside, however, I DO wish they would create a 10-49 bracket and a 50 bracket, simply to balance the playing field a bit. It would dramatically increase queue times for those dedicated few who have 50's already, but face it. It's not fair to those who enjoy PvP while leveling when they have to face off against a level 50 who is working on their Battlemaster set with a reasonable amount of Expertise. Lower level characters get raped enough by not having an ample skill set to play with. Also, after playing a Sorc in several WZ's here lately, I gotta admit. There's a serious balancing issue. Bubble grants nigh invincibility for a short time, and the 2 second speed boost is insane in a pinch. It would be a shame to see these get nerfed as it would be pretty class breaking on a PvE standpoint, but after playing quite a bit of instanced PvP since launch I can easily see why people say you can tell the outcome of the match by looking at how many Sorc/Sage's are on the opposing team.

I have more, but seriously...I just got off work Reply to what I've got so far and I'll give some more insight.

I don't know about you, but I've yet to find a planet that offers a full set for commendation gear. Thyton only offers a single chest piece, Coruscant only offers weapons and pants, Taris only offers weapons, boots and pants. No gloves, no chests pieces, no helmets. This stuff needs to be found during Heroic or flashpoint runs, or perhaps random drops. The best gear I found on my trooper and guardian came either from class missions, or from heroics and flashpoints, not from solo missions.

We obviously play with a different mindset here. I have no interest in rushing to level 50 and I do not want to wait 49 levels before I can finally wear some matching gear without gimping my character. Or where I can finally wear decent gear without looking like a clown. For me the trip from level 1 to 50 is more important then getting level 50. I don't pvp, so I don't care about endgame much. Once I hit level 50, I'll do a few high level flashpoints/raids, grow bored with the char and start a fresh one, where I'll have to spend most of my time once again looking like a clown, or wearing subpar gear.

LFG - The tool we're after doesn't have to be anything automated. Heck, I'd gladly even take a server-wide LFG chat channel. But right now if I want to team up for a heroic on Taris, I'm stuck on Taris, looking and shouting on the general chat. Anything that allows me to move so I could as well spend that time doing space missions, crafting/buying on the republic fleet, etc..

The only planet I did all of the heroics for was Kaas, which is the level 10-16 empire planet. I got some pretty blue pieces, but that was really it. Every other planet I would do 1 or 2 of the heroics (if people were asking for them and I was right next to the area) and typically the rewards wouldn't even be better than the comm gear I got on the previous planet. All I'm really saying. You and I have different goals in the game, so only take my opinion at face value. You want to take your time, I don't. The only missions I pay close attention to is the class storyline, as the planet questlines start to become incredibly repetitive. BUT, this is also why I'm closer to 50 than you guys and started a week later.

Agreed, look at the insert above. Also, I'm probably less likely to complain as the armor for my toons look really good, and match to boot. I'll probably start up a screenshot thread here in a little bit and show 'em off because seriously...they're beautiful.

Sounds pretty much like what I wouldn't mind having. Something similar to the LFG tool they had in the beginning of WotLK.

Either way, all the complaints I've seen here, on the official forums, on GamFAQs.com forums, and the other TOR forums I read, they are all small things. TOR has been out 2 weeks for some, 1 for others and I tell you now this is the smoothest launch I've been apart of. I have high hopes for this game. I can see why it took so long for them to develop.

Still figuring out my dislikes but...

    1) Poor guild support. You can't even invite someone to a group unless is it allowed in guild specs. It should be a built-in for all.
    2) Not a fan of out lvling a planet before I even get there because I enjoy the content and want to see it all.

As to galactic trade...I agree that it is lacking but I also agree that it is a matter of time. People are using their mats, are still learning about their crafting and just plain like farming in a new environment. In time they will get tired of farming and have enought money to buy from the market.

I enjoy the Flashpoints/heroics for the fights but it would be nice to get better perks for them. Like custom gear that gives a certian look or bonus that doesn't OP the character but allows for some uniqueness

BTW....I noticed that I am at 7 post in 2 days. LOL. Sorry, I just have been enjoying the conversation you have been having.

I dont see it happening soon... they seem more concerned with paying attention to PVP Whiners, Breaking the ilum PVP area, and making it so you cant link items in chat.

Did they finally fix D7? That place was so bugged it was ridiculous.

I've actually taken a break because of all the issues (sad considering). Not something I was originally going to share, but it doesn't quite matter as much now. I haven't logged on my account in probably 2 weeks, because I'm still waiting on patch notes in response to ability delay.

Actually, they have done quite a bit with that. I dont know if it was in the notes but that tuesday patch did something with it. Its certainly different, I'm not going to say perfect, but slightly improved.
