Thread: JediTank Official Guild - What is in a name?

I've been creating a lot of buzz about an official JediTank.com guild, and now would be a good time to get things going.

At the moment, I'm looking to be creating a Sith PvP guild with light to non-existent roleplay. It's not that I'm against roleplaying, as a matter of fact I LOVE it, but I would like to maintain a competitive edge in PvE, and personally feel that spending too much time engulfing the group in character will slow things down on a progression standpoint. I have no intention of creating a 'hardcore' guild, an 'elitist' guild, or a 'maximum progression' guild in spite of the previous statement, but I would still like to maintain a good pace. If anyone disagrees with me and can provide a good supporting argument, I'd be more than welcome to sway my judgement

The first would be the acquisition of a name. Sure, we can just make it JediTank, but what fun would that be?

I'll post some ideas later on, but as my time is running out, I'll be bringing this to a close. Please post anything you would consider a good name!

It's a shame you aren't looking for rp, JD. Are you at least looking to get on an rp server if they're available? As much as BioWare is promoting roleplay, I'm starting to believe that servers won't be segregated.

I would almost agree, but until I can get the ball rolling and see what's going on for sure, we'll never know.

I know I've been slacking a lot lately, I guess I'm just a bit burnt from all the work I've been doing lately, and only getting so much time off. Been pretty nonstop for nearly 2 months now.

To make this a little more fun, and to actually make this thread have a point...GIMME SOME NAME IDEAS!

I could, but I was going to try for something that would look stylish in-game. I suppose that would be an interesting and potentially ambiguous way to advertise

If you do create a guild. Would you guys be prepared to form an allegiance with my guild, "Jedi Weight Loss Clinic"? I would have to check with the guild leader of course, however, i'm sure he would be delighted to accept. We're most probably going to be rolling on a PVP server.

Well, I would, of course, be looking to roll Sith PvP, but considering the auto-load the servers will be doing (where we don't choose where we go), there's no telling if once the game came out if we were on the same server. If, indeed, we were, I would have no qualms as we all know what my focus is; to educate the SW:TOR community on strategy and mechanics.

There has to be a way to manually select a server. What point is it to start advertising your guild, and start recruiting new members if you can't even guarantee you'll be on the same server.
I doubt they would make such a mistake.

From my understanding, if you are a member of a guild you will get in together, otherwise its autoloaded.

Ok, but since you need to be on the same server to get a guild invite in the first place, there has to be a way to still pick manually.

You can join their guild via their guild page on the official website.

I believe that if you form an allegiance with another guild on the official website, the 2 guilds are automatically rolled on the same server. Therefore that shouldn't be an issue.

Is there options for allegiances? If there are, I'll quit wasting time NOT creating the guild and start making things happen. Thanks for the thought.

Yep yep. Now the only thing I'm worried about is not getting recruits, better yet, not getting enough recruits to pre-order TOR to make it permanent. Not that I can't take care of it once the game is released, but if there's to be any sort of alliance, that would be the measures I'd have to put in place.

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get enough members in due time. Patience is a virtue and will lead to you obtaining quality, loyal members. You see guilds on the swtor website spamming advertisements for new members, yes they get hundreds of members, however, they won't be loyal and when the game is actually released only 5 or so will actually hang on. Also, I highly doubt the atmosphere will be very friendly.

There's PLENTY of time until release and my guild is being patient. Therefore, we don't have many members at the moment, but we are gradually getting new members who are very loyal and friendly.

I'd advise you guys to make a guild recruitment thread on the swtor forums, tell people about jeditank.com, what kind of members you're looking for and I'm sure you will get plenty of quality members!

I've made a thread, the Sith recruitment forums are a busy place, it was washed away before it could even get 8 views.
