One of the things I'm interested in doing in preparation for the games release is sponsoring a guild. There will be several things with this idea to benefit all parties, and hopefully I'll be able to list all of them in this one simple thread.
For the Guild
It is undecided thus far if we will run any kind of interference with the guild, as in if I personally will be a member with some sort of power, but currently I'll be looking for someone interested in starting a guild and allow them the means to communicate, recruit, and publish details of their exploits. I will provide any resources within my ability to help this guild achieve any goals it sets out to achieve. If need be, I am fully capable of either finding or creating a vBulletin modification to incorporate DKP or other guild currency management systems, as well as private/public guild forums for members, officers, whatever is required.
I'm wanting someone to somewhat lead a pack of people ingame pretty much so that I don't have to. I won't be looking over any applicants shoulder or telling them what to do, I simply want to work with this guild, start in the same server / faction, and do some tanking for the guild on a limited basis (maybe more) so that I can record videos in a strategic fashion. I'll be working with American servers while Rayden and his own multi-game guild will be working with European servers. When I say limited, don't look at that in a negative way or that I will slow down your progression. I am a VERY competitive player myself, and have been in top progression guilds in WoW as both a tanking and a healing druid.
As for what I'm offering in exchange for you allowing me to be apart of your guild, if it's within our resources, we will provide it. Your guild will be named our official guild, which I know it doesn't look like now that we are new, but I can guarantee this site will take off and be the top of its niche (tanking in TOR) which should increase your prestige quite a bit. All PvP competitions I plan to host here after release will be hosted on the server that our official guild is on with prizes such as TOR gift cards for subscription fees.
As for any responsibilities with the site, that would be up to the applicant I suppose, but it could quite possibly be none. If they want to keep out of game activities such as DKP (if that's the system they were wanting to run), recruitment/application, or anything else on our forums instead of guildlaunch, I will simply ask them to watch over their forums as a moderator and keep me up-to-date with any members name and rank so I can keep usergroups up to date. Again, that part is up to the applicant.
For JediTank.com and its members
The goal of affiliating with an active guild is to declare a favored server for the members. No information about servers has been released from Bioware as of late, but I will personally be choosing the server and faction based on the route this guild would like to follow as a collective. Not that there won't be possibilities of expanding to other servers (there's MORE than a good chance), but at first I'd prefer starting small and precise. Any game based PvP contests will be on servers that are supported by JediTank.com, so selecting a 'home' server that the majority of our users can access is rather important.
I'll be looking to update this thread periodically with more information as necessary. Anyone interested in this idea, feel free to post. I would love to get the ball rolling on this as quickly as possible.
If anyone is interested in applying to lead a guild under our sponsorship, feel free to submit an application, but be sure and follow the guidelines to submitting first.
